Toto Tours has been serving the LGBT community since 1990. We are dedicated to creating exciting travel opportunities that enable our community to explore the wonders of the world in comfort and safety while having the time of our lives. Our clients come back year after year to travel with friends they met on previous trips, meet new people, and explore different parts of the world. We constantly develop new adventures to appeal to everyone, from those venturing on their first international trip, to even the most experienced and frequent world travelers. Our name not only celebrates our queerness, as "Friends of Dorothy," but the word "toto" is also derived from the Latin word meaning "all-inclusive." The many colors of the queer inclusion flag weave through the word TOTO to symbolize our connections to each other, our communities, and the world. Welcome to Toto Tours, where gay men, lesbians, non-binary folk, queers of all kinds, their close friends and adult family members are invited to travel together to discover all the delights this world has to offer -- "in Toto."

Before diving into his 15-year career in production work, Dan started out as a musician, singer and actor. He holds a BMus degree from the University of Oregon and an MA in Liberal Studies (Musicology) from SUNY Empire State College. As a performer, he has graced some of the world's most exclusive stages, including Carnegie Hall (twice!).
A high school year abroad in then-West Germany taught Dan how to explore the world with open eyes and an open heart, and the importance of exploring new places and cultures. Now, he's absolutely thrilled to bring that passion for adventure and learning to Toto Tours. Dan is ready to guide the company into an exciting future, focused on providing inclusive, immersive travel experiences for all.

Dan Ware is the visionary behind Toto Tours, building one of the world’s most enduring and trusted gay-tour companies. Since founding the company in 1990, he has guided Toto from modest beginnings to a global community of queer travelers who return year after year for adventure, connection, and discovery.
A lifelong believer in travel’s power to broaden horizons, Dan created Toto Tours to offer journeys that celebrate identity, foster community, and open doors to places many in the queer community may never have considered for themselves.
Under his leadership, Toto has ventured to destinations both classic and off the beaten path, from the cultural richness of Morocco or India to remote landscapes in Africa, Eastern Europe, or South America. Through it all, Dan has maintained a deep commitment to thoughtful, respectful travel: designing itineraries that honor local cultures while keeping safety, discretion, and connection at the core.
Dan calls himself the “Beautiful Benefactor” of Toto Tours, a nod to his belief that every journey should transform travelers by bringing people together in community, curiosity, and compassion.
