Tashilumpo Monastery,
one of the most important
in Tibet, built in the
15th Century		  
  Our route to
Lhasa winds through
spectacular scenery . . .		  
  . . . along the Yarlung
Zangbo River . . .

a dramatic
mountain pass		  
  On a full day of sightseeing
in Lhasa we see Norbulingka,
the summer palace of
the Dalai Lama, . . .		  
  . . . and the Tibet Museum, among many other sites  
  The central square
offers our first view
of the Potala Palace

  The Potala Palace rises thirteen stories high over the city’s plain, with more than 1,000 rooms  
  At the Sera Monastery
we have a chance to observe Tibetan monks chanting prayers		  
  We depart Lhasa on the new Qinghai-Tibet Railway, and see the most dramatic scenery
during the daylight hours.		  
  Our tour concludes in Beijing,
where you have the option to
extend your tour to see
the Forbidden City
